Mere/Fille Vacances (Sept 15) - Day 6

Okay, I'm only going to do a really quick post about Wednesday activities (yesterday)...for several reasons. First, I've already been to Mont St. Michel. For a more extensive post, please refer to my trip to Normandy in 2017 (it will be on this same blog website. You'll just have to scan through my old posts). Second, because there's not much to say about the Bayeaux tapestry.

First, we got up and went to Mont St. Michel. It is literally a mountain that becomes an island twice a day at high tide. At the top is the Abbey dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel. Again, please read my older post from my previous trip for more info. I'm not going to go through it all here.

You will be happy to know that Mom made it up all the way to the top! I am So proud of her! She says that she may have overdone it, but she made it up and back down again. I had to help her most of the way, since the hand rails weren't that great. And I gave her a personal foot and leg massage when we got back last night (I know, I'm the best daughter ever. She did the same for me a few days ago because I got horrible knots in my calves, though, that made my back hurt so bad).

After Mont St. Michel, we went to see the Bayeux Tapestry, which was made 1 thousand years ago. It tells the story of William the Conqueror. We weren't allowed to take pictures at all, so you'll have to go see it yourself if you are interested. It's pretty neat, but I don't have to go see it again. I really would rather go see the D-Day beaches and cemeteries. If you're interested in William the Conquerer just a little, then I suggest going to Caen and the Men's Abbey and seeing his grave instead. Just my personal opinion. But, as I said, I have to admit that it's kind of cool to see something made from so long ago in really good condition.

And that's really all I have to say about yesterday. I'm sure Mom has more thoughts on our excursions.

A plus tard.
